The School Project
The School Project is Danish Kids’ backbone and the foundation in the children’s upbringing
Parents in Philippines pay for schooling themselves, and the support from Danish Kids is essential for the kids to maintain school and education and to get a life as self-supporting adults.

Unforeseen situations, July 2017
Here is a report from Britta’s many visits to Minglanilla.
In 2016 the children had 25 procent absence. As they don’t tell us why, the teachers and we thought they were hungry and not capable to walk 7 km for school every day. But they are thick and happy, so it didn’t fit.
It appears it’s because they take turns taking care of their younger sisters, as their mother cleans and washes clothes for other people, where it’s not allowed to bring kids. The youngest is three and lives inside the cottage all day, behind a closed half door. The other small ones just run around by the river.
The mother has strongly been called for a solution, so the children don’t neglect the school that much. The children are on average in school and capable to reach beyond, if they attend every day.
